How about we celebrate that George Lucas had the tenacity to make a film that depicts true African American history as opposed to suggesting that he owes us something. He told a story that others refuse to share. We do not demand a portion of the revenues from other films we patronize. This should be treated the same. Let’s instead say thank you for highlighting that black men are more than sagging, disrespectful criminals and that this is only one of unlimited ways that African Americans have and continue to contribute to the growth and success of America.
