I cowered at the revelation that our soul brother number one, musical architect Don Cornelius, whose funky good time was always buoyed by a distinguished gentleman aesthetic, had taken his own life. Not by a pill popping escapade gone woefully astray, but rather a volatile projectile to the dome. This was personal. A profound proclamation of sadness with a mountainous burden: Do you hear me now?

Damn Good Album: She’s 4 Months

Peter Hadar’s Sultry Set Makes Everyday Valentines

–Edward M.Garnes, Jr.

P eter Hadar, a self deprecating weirdo,  is the eccentric kid immature high school bullies cornered in the lunchroom.  People fear what they don’t understand.  Hadar’s cerebral concoctions can’t be forced into palatable genres like R&B, Pop, or Soul.  His shit is a groovy head trip as his whispered vocal rants and supersonic sounds forge an unrivaled musical lane. Hadar’s new EP, aptly titled She’s 4 Months, takes you from first seductive kiss to 3am “where are my panties” orgasm.  This collection is not for the faint of heart or amateurish romps in the sheets. Hadar’s sultry set is a sweet indulgence for inquisitive lovers seeking to find a new level of sheet stained bliss.

The standout track “Sweat” should be renamed “Conception” because you may slip up and create life with each lust filled rotation.  An unabashed Hadar replies: “Sweating like this feels so damn good…baby…while you’re biting your lip like you should.” Backed by a mid tempo drum and suave bass line, the lush track is sure to produce limitless happy endings. Between nightfall and day break, Hadar’s love moment She’s 4 Months will make everyday a “til the cops come knockin” Valentines.
